Plasma Treatment Questions
CONSULTATION- a client consultation will be completed prior to treatment to ensure there are no factors which could affect treatment.
HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT?
The procedure will typically take from 30 minutes to one hour depending on the size of the area and the condition being treated.
IS IT PAINFUL? A topical numbing cream will be applied for patient comfort during treatment.
RECOVERY- There is less downtime associated with plasma pen technology opposed to a surgical alternative. Although small scabs will form across the treated area, they will soon disappear, usually within 14 days. During this time it is recommended to treat the area with lukewarm water to keep it clean during the healing process, aftercare instructions and product will be provided. It can take up to 12 weeks for the full effect of the treatment.
RESULTS- Following on from your treatment, small bumps will appear on your skin, and they may begin to scab over. After up to 14 days, with proper maintenance and aftercare, these scabs will disappear. Once recovered, your skin will be left looking clearer, smoother, rejuvenated and younger. Results from one treatment session can last several years, dependent upon clients lifestyle. In some severe cases 2 sessions may be beneficial to achieve maximum results.
SUITABILITY FOR TREATMENT? Plasma treatments are suitable for most candidates; however, there are a few contraindications that must be considered prior to treatment. This includes:
- Clients who have darker skin can't get this procedure; Darker skinned clients are prone to pigmentation.
- Clients who are tan and are constantly under the sun.
- Any skin disorders.
- Pregnant/ Lactating
- Any serious health problems
- Hepatitis A/B/C
- Cold sores
- Melasma
- Pacemaker/ defibrillator
- Any autoimmune disease
- Metal implants/pins
- Heart disease
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
