Aesthetics & Plasma (Fibroblast) Skin Tightening Clinic in Wigan, North West, England, UK
What is Plasma (Fibroblast) Skin Tightening?
It treats, repairs, lifts, regenerates and rejuvenates almost any area of skin. It spectacularly improves and brightens skin tone, laxity and texture, significantly tightens loose skin and dramatically reduces and plumps out lines and wrinkles.
Plasma treatment and it’s pioneering technique helps deliver a brighter, more contoured and youthful appearance. Results are virtually immediate and incredibly long lasting – all without any need for fillers, suturing, scalpels, injectable anaesthetic, ablation or costly and invasive surgery.
As we age, the dermal layer thins, less collagen is produced, the elastin fibres which provide elasticity wear out and all these changes in the scaffolding of the skin cause it to wrinkle and sag. In simple terms, our skin loses laxity and texture as we grow older. It becomes loose, it sags and lines and wrinkles appear. Plasma therapy targets fibroblasts. These are collagen and protein producing cells in the dermis the layer of skin just below your outermost skin layer. Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness.
Plasma skin therapy uses a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current. The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin’s upper layer, which activates the fibroblast cells lower in the skins layers to regenerate and produce collagen & protein to firm & tighten the skin.
According to an 2019 article published in the PMFA journal, the thermal disruption, or heat damage, from plasma therapy:
BENEFITS: Plasma fibroblast therapy is a nonsurgical, non invasive treatment that may be used to treat the following conditions:
Cosmetic specialists may also use plasma fibroblast therapy as a non surgical alternative to lip fillers to make the lips look fuller without the need for painful injections & fillers.
Plasma therapy is non invasive & non surgical. It produces skin firming & tightening results that rival procedures that typically require surgical intervention.
CONSULTATION- prior to treatment a client consultation will be completed to ensure there are no factors which could affect treatment.
HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT?
Depending on the size of the area and the condition being treated, the procedure typically takes from 30 minutes to one hour.
IS IT PAINFUL? A topical numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure for patient comfort during treatment.
RECOVERY- Plasma Pen technology provides less downtime to your daily life and activities in comparison to surgical intervention. Although small scabs will form across the treated area, they will soon disappear, usually within 14 days. It is also normal to expect some swelling of the treatment area the following day. During this time it is recommended to treat the area with lukewarm water to keep it clean during the healing process and apply the provided aftercare product. Full aftercare instructions will be provided following treatment.
SUITABILITY FOR TREATMENT? Most candidates are suitable for Plasma treatments; however, there are a few contraindications that must be considered prior to treatment. This includes the patients’ proneness to scarring, how dark their skin is, allergies, immune-deficiency and pregnancy.
RESULTS- Following on from your treatment, small bumps will appear on the surface your skin, and they may begin to scab over. It is really important not to try to remove these. After up to 14 days, with proper maintenance and aftercare, these scabs will disappear. Once recovered, your skin will be left looking smoother, clearer, younger and rejuvenated. Results from one treatment session can last up to 3 years.
In some more severe cases 2 sessions may be beneficial to achieve the maximum results from the treatment.
